The Little Truck That Can! Part 5

The Mechanics

We get back to the mechanics and the flatbed pulls in with the food truck on it and Jack, the owner at Ramsower’s Automotive and his staff come out and look at the truck and all are saying how cool it is. The photo’s don’t do it justice. I told him it started, and Jack was so excited saying ” thats great news”.  He went on to say, “We’ll have a look at it and go from there.”  Things are moving along.

This part of the process started at 8:00am on Monday morning. And the truck was moved and at the mechanics by noon of the same day. To Cindy’s point,  “just do it”, “get it done”

Unfortunately, without any pool time…………….lol lol lol lol

Quick update. 6/26/2018

Went over to Ramsower’s Automotive to see Jack yesterday on how things were moving along and the news is good!  The engine is good. Brakes were bled and are also looking good. We are going to remove the gas tank and get it cleaned out. After sitting for so long it’s just a smart move. Need new battery, figured that. Also need new tires, figured that as well.

Our next step?  The Interior build out.  The inside of the truck is small.  As mentioned in previous posts, it use to be a mail truck so space is limited.  We need to maximize the space to solve for how we would like to use it in Tucson in the winter and Cape Cod in the summer.   Jack restores old vintage vehicles, trucks, RV’s and is going to also help us with the interior build out.   He had some fabulous ideas!   Over the next couple of weeks he will be sending over some drawings on how he envisions we maximize the space.   So stay tuned more to come!

Next week, we will be profiling the original owner of the “The Wonderful Ice Cream Truck”.   Cindy found him through a google search.   I reached out to him and we will tell you about him next week.
