Craig and Cindy’s Cross Country Trip – Summer 2018

Well, the plans are complete, and Cindy and I will be hitting the road for our 2,500 mile drive to our place in Cape Cod.

I will keep you posted along the way, about sites we see and food we eat.

Throughout the trip we will be trying out a couple of travel apps.

  1. Google Trips- Cindy has already uploaded this app on to her phone. When she did, the app pulled information from her gmail and already put information on our future trip, and past trips we have taken. Things to do, places to eat, top spots, family friendly, locations and things of this nature. We’re looking forward to try it out! But talk about Big Brother!!!!!!! lol lol
  2. Roadtrippers – this app seems very similar to the other.. Enter your destination and Roadtrippers will tell you along the way as you go everything within 5 minutes of your current location. Local food is what I’m really interested in.

We’ll let you know how each app is performing along the way!

Here’s the itinerary.

We leave Phoenix on the first day and will drive to Amarillo (who knows, this could be the year I go for the 72 ounce steak at The Big Texan Steak House) https://www.bigtexan.com.

From there we’ll drive to Tulsa, where we will stay a few nights at my good friend Shannon’s place. (Shannon is the women who gave me the Food Truck). Shannon has also asked me to do a one year wedding anniversary party for a close friend. Which of course I said yes! Pictures and menu to come!

From Tulsa, we drive to Memphis where we’ll spend a couple days and go to Graceland. This is someplace Cindy and I have always wanted to visit.

From Memphis, it’s up to Cleveland, for a couple days and THE ROCK N ROLL HALL of FAME. Another place Cindy and I have always wanted to  check out.

From Memphis, it’s up to my home town of Poughkeepsie NY and off to our place at the Cape.

A couple of weeks at the Cape with lots of family and friends. Lot’s of food out on the deck. And a great time.   So stay tuned!

If you have been to Graceland or Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and have any suggestions on “must see” let us know!
