Road Trip Day 2 – Tulsa OK

Today was an easy day. Only 5 hours from Amarillo to Tulsa. I arrived at Shannon’s house at around 12pm.

I wanted to stop off at the The Blue Whale of Catoosa, which is just east of the city. But know that Cindy wants to see it so will wait for her!

For those of you that are American Pickers fans, you might remember that Danielle and Mike stopped at the Blue Whale in Catoosa. The Blue Whale is a waterfront structure and it has become one of the most recognizable attractions on old Route 66. Hugh Davis built the Blue Whale in the early 1970s as a surprise anniversary gift to his wife Zelta, who collected whale figurines. You can climb all through and around this huge whale, and swim in the water as well

Little background on Shannon

Shannon was my very first private chef client in Tucson some 10/12 years ago. She introduced me to many of my current clients and really helped me get the business going. We have become very good friends over the years. She now spends most of time at her home here in Tulsa. I always stop and visit on our trips cross country. Shannon is also the person who gave me the food truck. Great Lady!

Shannon and I went to have lunch as soon as I arrived to catch up. We had lunch at this very cool local breakfast/lunch place here in Tulsa Brookside By Day, aka, BBD.

Great place. Shannon recommended I have the burger, I’m glad she did. When I use to think about opening my own restaurant some years ago, this is exactly what I had in mind. We spent about 3 hours chatting and catching up.

Pretty quiet day……….

Oh before I forget, Shannon set up a 6:30pm in home massage for me. Shannon’s good friend Ernesto gave me the massage. It was outstanding. I’ve really enjoyed spending time with Ernesto, he’s a really good guy! When he was done he informed me that Shannon had set up a 6:30 pm massage for me every day, and for Cindy when she gets here on Friday, every day while we’re here………life doesn’t suck! lol
